Heating Element
The standard width of heating elements is 2mm, 5mm and 10mm, as well as the fusing type. The configuration of the heater terminals is changed for the modification of the electrodes according to the Product Liability Law. In this page, we will only introduce the shapes of heaters used mainly in our general-purpose products.
The four heating elements shown on the left are called “Ring-tongue terminal (or flat-shaped terminal) heaters.” They are characterized by the round hole on the terminal, designed for a heater-securing screw to go through. The heating elements shown on the right are called “L-shaped terminal heaters.” These heating elements have terminals that are bent in the shape of the letter “L”.
This means that a 2 mm heating element may refer to either the ring-tongue or the L-shaped terminal, and the models that have the same name may not share the same heater (or the terminal) depending on the versions.
For details on which shape goes on to which model, please refer to electrodes page. Heating elements are available in two types of set - units of 20 or units of 10.
